How to ask without making it an interview
There are no right answers here. Questions for couples are for hearing each other out, not for keeping score. The answer you didn’t see coming is the good part.
Both of you answer. One asks, the other answers, then the asker takes the same question. That’s a conversation, not a quiz. Don’t rush to the next one, either: “tell me more” usually beats five new questions.
Anyone can skip anything, no explanation needed. Start with a lighter set and save the personal ones for a night when nobody’s in a hurry.

Common questions
- What are some deep questions for couples?
- The “Deeper” set has 25 of them, about trust, support, and feeling close. Try “When do you feel most loved by me?” or “What’s hard for you to ask for?” Ask one, then really listen.
- What are fun questions for couples?
- Start with “Getting to know you” and “How well do you know me?” Karaoke songs, weird food combos, and guessing each other’s coffee order rarely stay serious for long.
- How do you play 20 questions for couples?
- Pick 20 questions from any set, about three or four from each. Take turns asking, and both answer every one. Twenty is plenty for one night; save the other 130 for later.
- Can we ask questions for couples over text?
- Yes. Send one a day and both answer, by voice memo if you like. The lighter sets work best over text. Save “Deeper” for a call or a night in.
- What if one of us doesn’t want to answer?
- Skip it and take the next one. Nobody owes a reason, and you can come back to it later or never.
